With an at-home allergy test processed in a lab, you get accurate results just like you would when conducting an allergy test in our office. You’ll get the same quality care and symptom relief, all without leaving your home.
What Does the At-Home Allergy Test Process Look Like?
1. We mail you a test kit with easy 4-step instructions.
Everything you need will come ready to go. A complete test kit, step-by-step instructions and prepaid return envelope.
2. You perform the test and send the results back in a pre-paid envelope.
Follow the instructions to collect your blood sample with a tiny automated finger prick, much like a diabetic blood sugar test. Place the sample on the designated piece of paper, seal it in the envelope and send with pre-paid postage.
3. We set up a follow-up appointment to explain your results.
An allergy expert will schedule a time to connect with you virtually or in-person to review the findings of your test. We’ll discuss your options and next steps for treatment.
4. We work with you to find a treatment plan that works for your unique lifestyle.
We’ll create a customized treatment plan based on your results and lifestyle. You will work with one of our specialty-trained providers to find a treatment plan that will bring you lasting relief.
What to Expect After an At-Home Allergy Test Appointment
After your at-home allergy test, you and your provider will connect via telemedicine (a video appointment on your phone, tablet, or computer) or meet in-person to discuss the results. You’ll hear an explanation of the findings and review potential treatments or next steps for allergy relief based on the test results. We then customize a treatment plan for your unique needs. We can send prescriptions or tailor-made treatments directly to your door, and there is never a charge for shipping. We make sure everything can be done via mail or online so you can receive complete care, start to finish, all from the comfort of your home.
When Should You Come into the Office vs. When Should You Sign Up for a Virtual Allergy Test Appointment?
We have extensive experience with telemedicine, which means we are happy to see you virtually or in person, depending on your preference and comfort. Our telemedicine system is simple and requires no specific apps or downloads.
Our office has instituted numerous safety policies to ensure any patient coming to our office is safe. We continue to serve patients who prefer or require in-person office appointments.
Still, we understand it can be more convenient and comfortable, especially during this time, for some patients to schedule an online medical e-visit. We are happy to accommodate patient needs by providing the same level of care, compassion, and professionalism in a virtual telemedicine format.
Insurance Information
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, most insurance providers will cover your telemedical visits just like a standard in-office visit.
